Windham-Tolland 4-H Camp News
June is the month we work for — and wait for — all year, because it is when camp begins!
We do want to take a minute, though, to thank our auctioneer, Ernie Eldridge, all our hard-working and dedicated volunteers, business donors, and those who donated gently used and new items to our Auction and Tag Sale in May. It was a great success, and the money raised goes into the operating fund to keep camp tuition as low as possible.
Camp starts on June 21 this year and ends on Aug. 14. If you are looking for an unplugged, fun, and life-skill-building experience for your child this summer, please check our website soon. We offer both day and overnight camps, and each week has a different theme. You can find details and registration forms on our website, www.4hcampct.org. Registration is open throughout the summer, but slots are filling up quickly, especially for day camp, so don’t wait too long to sign up.
Campers self-select the activities they want to include in their schedule each week from a list of 13 offerings. Each year, we recruit counselors from other countries to enrich the camp experience. This year, we have recruited counselors from Wales, Spain, Switzerland, France, Hungary, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, and Uganda. Week 6 is International Week, and these counselors get to share information and cuisine from their countries at an International Fair with campers.
Our motto is “A summer of fun, a lifetime of memories!” We’d love to have you come and make some memories with us this summer. Our camp registrar is available by phone to answer any questions at (860) 974-1122.
